The opening of the new public library, November 4, 1965

A souvenir programme of the opening of the public library in Palmerston North by the His Excellency the Governor General, Sir Bernard Fergusson, on 4th November, 1965, at 3 p.m. The architects were James Walker and Lloyd C. Love, the builders were J.L. McMillan and Comany, Limited, the structural engineer was J.N. Turnbull and the Quantity Surveryors, Hogg and Cardiff.  The Mayor at that time was G.M. Rennie, O.B.E and the City Librarian was C.D. Trudgeon.  the programme provides a brief description of the city's previous four public libraries.
